Kris Saville, author of the children’s book Pete Potts and the Petrifying Plughole

I began writing and illustrating about a decade ago, and I tried to get numerous stories published through the traditional method, to no avail. A successful author suggested that self-publishing was a better route for an aspiring author nowadays, so I took his advice and started researching companies that could help.

From our very first communication, it was clear that Danielle had an interest in my story, providing honest feedback and, probably most importantly, asking me lots of questions about what I wanted for the book; it was clear to me at this point that the services she’d provide would be bespoke and personal.

Danielle and her team were able to guide me through the whole publishing process. Danielle set out a clear timeframe from the beginning, and these deadlines were all met, without the process feeling rushed. Danielle was also able to adapt to specific requirements with my location in mind (I currently live in the Middle East), and her communication was excellent throughout the whole process.

Probably the most challenging aspect of my book was the typesetting and illustration layout that I had in mind. I was absolutely delighted with the way that Alexa, Danielle’s typesetter, was able to bring my vision to the page. Not only was she able to add everything I asked for, but she also expanded on my ideas to give the pages an engaging layout, which children have said is exciting to look at and read. I’ve also received some great reviews on Amazon.

The one aspect of the whole process that really stood out to me was the genuine enthusiasm that both Danielle and Alexa displayed throughout; it is clear that they enjoy what they do, and that’s probably why they are so good at it! I would recommend Wrate’s Editing Services to any aspiring author, and will certainly use them for my next book.
