Once you’ve published your book, you’ll need to let people know it’s available. Some self-publishing companies claim to send out a press release to multiple media organisations/journalists. This may sound promising, but as a journalist as well as an editor, I know this can be a fruitless exercise. Effective book marketing involves working out an angle and pitching the story to the publications and journalists that are most likely to publish it. I’ve been able to secure press coverage for my author clients in the national press, including the Daily Mirror and Mail Online (the most visited English-langauage newspaper in the world), as well as in many local newspapers and magazines.
How it works
Using my inside knowledge of the media industry, I will write a press release/story pitch and send it out to up to three relevant publications. This service includes follow up calls and emails, with an update on any feedback I receive. I’ll also give you the press release to use for your own marketing purposes and provide further advice. Below are just a few of the articles I’ve secured in the local and national press for my clients.
